*I wrote this before but it got accidentally deleted and it bothers me so I want to re-write it again*
For this past two years, I knew about this convention but I never got the chance to attend till now! I went with my mom, her fiancé, my younger sister and my friend. This year I was going cosplayed as Maka Albarn and I lent my friend my Death The Kid which is also from Soul eater, the anime we went cosplayed from. My sister was going dressed as a bunny rabbit(lol)
We planned to get up at 8 in the morning to get ready and go. We got up at that time and put our cosplays on! Last year, at Anime Expo 2011 I wore my Maka cosplay and it was decent but I had troubles with my wig and didn't have gloves. I do think it was not a bad cosplay and decent but this time around, I wanted to make it the best I could! Since I had said I had troubles with the wig I decided to just use my natural hair which by the way, is light black. I know Maka is blonde but when you look up, ''Maka Albarn Cosplay'' half the cospplayers use their natural hair which I usually mostly see is about my color. Also, the Japanese voice actress had used her natural hair when doing a commercial for the series when she cosplayed as her. I went and got my hair done the fay before and got bangs and got it flat ironed. I also got a facial two days before and was wearing make-up with the costume this time to try and look the prettiest I could!
We left at around 9:30 and stooped at a Mcdonalds(Drive-through! I wasn't to go out to eat with my costume on lol!) we were afraid of getting a stain on our costumes from eating but luckily we were fine!
We finally go to the the convention at around 11 and went to on site registration since we didn't do registration before online since it was closed before I knew I could go. There wasn't a big line though and we only waited for about 4 or 5 minutes. The process went quick and we had out badges!
After we had our badges, me, my friend and my sister separated and we went to the dealers hall. While we were there my sister got a anime self portrait of herself drawn! It turned out really cute!
After that, we left the dealers hall for a while and walked around and after walking around a while we found a photo studio room! They had it set up really professional like you'd fine were professional pictures are being taken for photoshoots for celebrities. We had one of the photographers take pictures of us and it felt really cool aha. Like I felt like a hello!project member when they take photoshoots lol.
After that, we meet up with my mom and her fiancée who were eating in ones of the restaurants but then left again and went out to the the pool deak which was really neat. It was filled with a bunch of cosplayers and in the pool there were cosplayers dressed up in mermaids tails swimming!
We then left to go to the Soul Eater gathering but only stayed to take two or three pictures. After the gathering, when we were in the pool deck area, we saw there was a con suite with free finger food and planned to go when we were done with the gathering which we did just that and ate in the pool deck.
Then, once we finished eating we went to the artist alley for a while, and after doing that we planned to go to a maid cafe we had found out from the handbook they had but after going to the area it was we looked at the handbook again and found it just ended.
We went back and found my mom and her fiancée and went to the dealers hall one last time before we left to get any last things. In the end my sister had her anime self portrait of herself done from earlier, I got two Ouran High School Host Club buttons, a bow and a Miku leek plushie.
We left the convention after that and I have to say I really thought the convention was incredibly fun and I hope to return again in 2013!
By the way, here are some pictures where you can see the cosplays from myself my friend and younger sister!
